A recognition that highlights the future of the youth of Pankisi Valley.
On October 1, 2024, the head of the Roddy Scott Foundation, Ms. Lia Margoshvili, was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Akhmeta Municipality for her outstanding contribution to the education and development of young people in Pankisi Valley and for her many years of tireless work. However, this recognition was not received by Ms. Lia alone — it is also the merit of the entire foundation’s team. Without so many dedicated and hard-working people, Ms. Lia Margoshvili would not have been able to achieve so much on her own.
For 17 years now, the Roddy Scott Foundation, as an English-language European school, has been working in the field of education and youth development in Pankisi Valley. Throughout these years, the foundation has given many young people a unique opportunity for education, personal growth, and professional development. The foundation provides local youth with the chance to master the English language at a high level, receive an education that meets international standards, and become not only successful professionals but also active and responsible citizens.
Under the leadership of Ms. Lia Margoshvili, the foundation’s team in Pankisi Valley has created not only an educational and cultural space but also nurtures young people who receive their education based on European values and traditional
principles, working towards the progress of a modern, developed Georgia.
Many people say: “If Pankisi Valley has truly developed since 2008, a great share of this development belongs to the Roddy Scott Foundation and its remarkable team — under the leadership of Ms. Lia Margoshvili.”
This award once again confirms the public’s trust and gratitude towards the foundation’s work. It is a symbol of the support and appreciation that local people express toward the foundation, its teachers, and its students.
The Mayor of Akhmeta Municipality, Mr. Aleksi Fitskhelauri stated during the award ceremony: “What Ms. Lia and the foundation have done for the country is truly a matter of national and state importance.” Today, the Roddy Scott Foundation has more than 250 students, and its mission remains the same — to nurture an educated, active, and responsible generation that serves its country with love and dedication.
